    Videos and
    case studies

Sometimes you just need to watch a short video on a topic to help you understand that little bit more about it. Here are some really informative, and sometimes emotional videos about asbestos. We hope you take the time to have a look and in doing so gain some additional knowledge that will help you Fight the Dust into the future.

    Watch in your language

Cumberland Council has developed an engaging, short animated video focused on sharing the very basics about asbestos with anyone who will listen! It has been translated into five additional languages to help new Australians in particular understand a material that may not have been as common in their country of origin.

    Stories and case studies

Here are some stories highlighting the very real impact asbestos exposure has had on the lives of everyday Australians.

    The Adam Sanger story

Adam Sager died from mesothelioma (an asbestos related disease) at the age of 25. His family has shared his heartbreaking story to raise awareness about the dangers of asbestos. Adam was exposed to asbestos at 18 months and his parents urge all families to protect themselves.

    Cumberland Council

Cumberland Council's free asbestos pick up service has been selected for a case study by the Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency. Cumberland Council offers its residents a free asbestos collection, to collect small amounts of loose, non-friable asbestos laying dormant on residential properties. You can view the video featuring members of the Environment and Resource Recovery Team here.
